Description
The FSL Home Care Program is seeking caring, compassionate, honest and punctual self-starters to join our pool of caregivers and CNAs.  You will provide in home support to individuals in their private homes to maintain a safe and clean environment. In doing so, caregivers and CNAs will ensure each client’s dignity, respect and independence. Supports will include duties such as housekeeping, personal care and transportation. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Personal Care – Assist with bathing, hygiene, dressing
  • Housekeeping – Ensure clean, safe living space (i.e. dishes, dusting, laundry)
  • Respite Care –  Provide relief for family members in the home
  • Safety Supervision – Report any changes/ concerns to the office via written and verbal communications
  • Transportation – Errands, accompaniment to doctor’s appointments, grocery shopping
  • Medicine Reminders – Provide verbal reminders for medications
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

Minimum Required: 
  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Must have a valid Arizona driver’s license.
  • Must have reliable mode of transportation.
  • Must be able to read, write and understand English effectively.
  • Must have, or be able to obtain, a Level One Fingerprint Clearance Card through the Department of Public Safety background check/fingerprint clearance process.
  • Must be able to show evidence of being free from communicable disease (TB) upon hire and annually thereafter.
  • Must be able to perform job with minimal supervision.
  • Must be able to stoop, bend, push and physically assist the client with his/her needs and be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Must have working knowledge and understanding of personal care skills.
  • Must not have any restrictions for physical work for which reasonable accommodation cannot be made.
  • Must complete eight hours of in-service training annually (calendar year).
  • Must have current CPR and First Aid certification. (Classes in CPR and First Aid certification will be provided within one month of hire.)
  • Must have the Direct Care Worker training and certification, as required by the State of Arizona, or be able to complete it within 90 days of being hired.
  • At least one and a half years’ of professional caregiving/respite experience with senior citizens and/or adults with disabilities is PREFERRED.
